The intervention at Burton is now servicing students from Kinder - fifth grade. In our intervention program, we are teaching the students many different types of strategies to help students decode words. We start with the basics - phonemic awareness which is when students can hear the sounds in words. We then progress to blending sounds to put words together. The students are also learning sight words and vowel sounds. The older students are studying vocabulary and using thinking maps to better understand the content. READING AND MATH INTERVENTION

Burton is excited to offer a Reading and Math Intervention program. Students will be using computer-based learning systems through Ticket to Read or Vmath Live. The Intervention Program will provide students an opportunity to improve their skills in language arts, mathematics, and computer technology.
