Message From the Principal

Burton Families and Community,

The weather is changing, the days are getting shorter, but we continue to move forward with our plan of producing college and career ready students who are equipped with the 21st Century skills necessary to be successful in our ever changing world.  Thank you parents for partnering with us in this endeavor!

Here are some highlights for the months of November and December:

Parent Conferences

Parent conferences will take place starting November 6, through Monday, November 13.  These conferences provide parents with the opportunity to discuss the academic and behavioral progress of the their children on a one to one basis with teachers.

College Awareness Week (November 27 - December 1)

During college awareness week, we will familiarize our students with the many college options that are available to them after high school.  It is important to begin speaking about college to our students now so that they can begin setting goals for their future.  Please support our efforts by speaking to your children about setting goals and by helping them understand that education will be the key to attaining their goals.

I Love Burton! Day

We will have our second campus improvement day on Saturday, December 2.  Our focus will be on improving the auditorium area by painting and gardening.  Please make every effort to attend.

Thank you parents for being involved in your children's education.  Here at Burton we will continue to STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE in everything we do.  As always, please remember that my door is open for parents so that we may work together to continue moving our school forward.

Sincerely,

Jorge Ríos,
Principal
