Message From the Principal

Greetings Burton Elementary School Families and Community!
It is an honor and privilege to introduce myself as the new principal for Burton Street Elementary.  My name is Jorge Ríos, and I come to you with eighteen years of experience serving LAUSD students.  I am also a graduate of LAUSD and I know firsthand the challenges many of our students face. I also know that when students stay the course, graduating high school is a memorable and proud day for all and the beginning of a lifetime of success.
My job as principal is to ensure a high quality educational program for our students in a safe environment.  This important task can only be achieved with the collaboration of our entire school community.  Burton has a rich history of growth and success.  I invite all of our Burton Family to join me in my mission of making this great school stellar.
My door is always open; please stop by and share your Burton stories with me.  I look forward to meeting you and working together to help our school reach its full potential.
Jorge Ríos
